For the first time in our country, the subject "Biosecurity and Bioprotection" has been established at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).
Biosecurity is the most effective system of measures to protect and control diseases that affect humans, animals, and the environment, preventing their harmful consequences. Biosecurity should be one of the key principles in the work of every veterinarian and farmer, as well as a primary responsibility they must uphold. In addition, biosecurity refers to the implementation of safety and protection measures to minimize or prevent the risk of exposure to infectious agents for individuals working with contagious materials, laboratories, the public, and the environment.
In this direction, ADAU has already prepared a methodological manual for the subject "Biosafety and bioprotection", which will be taught to first-year students at ADAU starting this year.
